How do I know if therapy is right for me?

If something is weighing on you — stress, a big life change, a relationship, a pattern you’d like to understand better — therapy can help, whether or not you’re in crisis. Many people start simply because they’d like support and an outside perspective. There’s no threshold of “bad enough” you need to meet first.

What happens in a first session?

Your first session is mostly conversation. Your clinician will ask about what brings you in, a bit of your history, and what you’re hoping to get out of therapy. Together you’ll start shaping goals and a treatment plan — there’s no script you need to follow, and nothing you’re required to share before you’re ready.

What's your cancellation policy?

We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment, so we can offer the time to another client who needs it. Late cancellations or missed appointments may be subject to a fee — your clinician will go over the specifics with you at intake.

Do you offer telehealth, and how does it work?

Yes — we offer secure, HIPAA-compliant video sessions Monday through Friday, in addition to in-person visits in Morgantown and Latrobe. You’ll join from a private, quiet space using a link we send you ahead of time; no special software or account is required. See our telehealth consent basics for more detail.

How do I know if you take my insurance?

We accept most major insurance plans — see our full list on the insurance page. Still not sure? Visit our insurance verification guide or reach out and we’ll help confirm your specific benefits before you book.

What if I'm not sure which clinician is the right fit?

That’s completely normal, and you don’t have to figure it out alone. When you reach out, tell us a little about what you’re looking for and we’ll match you with the clinician whose specialty and style fit your needs — you’re also welcome to switch later if something isn’t clicking.

Is what I share in therapy confidential?

Yes, with narrow legal exceptions. What you share is protected under HIPAA and professional confidentiality standards. The main exceptions are situations involving risk of serious harm to yourself or others, or suspected abuse of a child, elder, or dependent adult — your clinician will review these limits with you at intake. See our HIPAA notice summary for more.
