A note from Dr. Deb
When people ask what I believe about mental health, I tell them this: you are not just a collection of symptoms. Your thoughts, your body, your relationships, and your history are all connected, and healing tends to work best when we pay attention to all of it — not only the part that hurts the most.
A big part of my work is psychoeducation: helping you understand what is happening in your mind and body. When you can put words to what you are experiencing, it often starts to make sense why you feel the way you do. Understanding doesn’t fix everything, but it can turn confusion and self-blame into something you can work with.
I believe that every one of us already has the ability within us to heal and grow. My role isn’t to fix you; it’s to walk alongside you as you rediscover that inner strength. I believe in empowerment: helping you find your own voice, make your own choices, and trust yourself again.
That is why we take a holistic, mind-and-body approach here. We listen first, we move at your pace, and we treat you as the expert on your own life. I also work to take the stigma out of mental health. Asking for help is not a weakness and nothing to hide.
Whether you are coming in for the first time or returning after a long while, you will be met with compassion, acceptance, and no judgment. I can’t promise the road will be easy, but you won’t have to walk it alone.

Briana Bunner
LPC, Licensed Professional Counselor · National Certified Counselor (NCC)
Briana is a graduate of Robert Morris University, where she received two degrees: a Bachelor of Science in Clinical & Sport Psychology and a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology. She holds licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor and is a Nationally Certified Counselor. Briana views counseling as a collaborative process and tends to take a holistic approach, with an integrative theoretical orientation — knowing that no two individuals or situations are alike.
While at RMU, she was a student-athlete and member of the Division I Softball team for four years. As a former Division I student-athlete, she understands the unique set of challenges, demands, and expectations of student-athletes, as well as the stigma that can sometimes be attached to seeking mental health support. Briana specializes in working with student-athletes who want support for their overall well-being or any mental health concerns, who are recovering from injuries or trauma, and who want to optimize their sport performance. She wants to advocate for student-athletes’ psychological needs and bridge the gap for mental health support — though her primary interest is student-athletes, she welcomes all people.
Briana has counseled individuals with depression, anxiety, eating disorders, ADHD, drug and alcohol use, grief, relationship issues, performance issues, trauma, perfectionism, and academic issues.
Haleigh Whipple
LAPC, Licensed Associate Professional Counselor · National Certified Counselor (NCC)
Have you ever questioned what your purpose in life is? Often times, our outlook on life is the result of our lived experiences — the good, the bad, and the ugly. And sometimes, as a result, we begin to question who we are and what is the best way to navigate life.
I’m Haleigh, a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor with experience supporting individuals in mental health and drug and alcohol recovery. I work with clients who are rebuilding confidence, self-worth, and a sense of direction, and I’m passionate about helping people reconnect with their strengths and move toward meaningful change.
I use an integrative, evidence-based approach tailored to each individual. My style is conversational, compassionate, and nonjudgmental, with a touch of humor, creating a space where you feel heard, understood, and supported. I also incorporate psychoeducation and practical coping skills to help you better understand your experiences and apply growth beyond the therapy room. Every session is unique, guided by your story, goals, and perspective.
Although I am a newer counselor, my background includes mental health case management and service as a U.S. Navy Corpsman. These experiences shaped my desire to support service members and veterans in owning their story, healing from challenges, and living authentically.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, exploring new places, and crocheting — activities that help me stay grounded and present, both personally and professionally.
Deborah Migyanko
LSW, Licensed Social Worker · Certified School Social Worker
Deborah “Deb” Migyanko is a Licensed Social Worker and Certified School Social Worker in Pennsylvania. She specializes in supporting adolescents and adults navigating trauma, anxiety, mood disorders, school-related challenges, and sports performance issues.
Deb earned her Bachelor of Social Work from California University of Pennsylvania and her Master of Social Work from West Virginia University. Currently, she is a School Social Worker at Albert Gallatin Area High School through Intermediate Unit 1.
As a certified trauma therapist and a certified Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) provider, Deb grounds her practice in a holistic, person-centered approach. She emphasizes the mind-body connection, focusing on the individual as a whole rather than just their symptoms. Deb provides a secure, non-judgmental environment for clients to process difficult experiences, express their emotions, and explore their needs. By drawing on a variety of therapeutic techniques, she tailors her methods to align with each client’s unique circumstances, supporting them as they work to move forward in their lives.
Outside of practice, Deb enjoys travel, exercise, and spending time outdoors. She finds a sense of peace in nature by walking local trails. During the fall season, she can be found attending WVU football games as a season ticket holder.
Brutus
Resident Therapy Dog · Therapy Dogs United
Brutus is very caring and compassionate, with his own unique trauma story. He was abandoned and left to fend for himself during a hurricane in Louisiana. An incredible couple who traveled to help with the cleanup came to his rescue — when they noticed him rummaging for food, hungry, injured, and terrified, it took five days of patience before he finally trusted them.
They took him to the vet for treatment and tried to locate his owners without success, so they fostered him and eventually listed him on an adoption website — where his current humans found him.
He still has triggers around thunderstorms and windy days and takes medication for his anxiety, but Brutus has thrived with the compassion of everyone in his life. He is such an amazing, smart, and compassionate dog that his humans decided to see if he could become a therapy dog — he went through about eleven months of training and testing to become AKC registered (even though he isn’t pure bred) and is a registered therapy dog with Therapy Dogs United.
Brutus is here to offer comfort to anyone who would like him to join a session. If you would rather meet without him, that is perfectly fine — it is always your choice.
